If you have true skill, build a couple of grip sites or write a couple of sweet programs that are tiny but fast and show them off to web dev companies or marketing companies that focus a lot on online marketing development or software dev firms. Skills isn't enough find a niche in code authoring.
Also build a resume and get it out to Technology Associations around the area you live. Los Angeles has tons of great networking associations for you if you live in the area.
