Can i install any software in a pendrive or cd instead in c drive so that it'll remain active even after trial

when i download some trial softwares it gets locked after a given time. i know it very well. all i wanna know is how do i prevent getting it locked. i think it may be that the software once installed keeps note of the date and time and checks it everyday. if i install it in a pendrive or later copy the folder from drive c into a non rewritable cd, can i acess it after trial expires.

if this isn't possible then please tell me how do i preserve it

The above answerer has explained it very well but i would like to add one more thing. Each and every installer keeps a track of date and time ( as you said) in the registry. Even after you uninstall the application traces of it are left behind in the registry. Please note that registry editing can cause serious problems if not done with care. Good luck!
Reply:Many programs keep temporary files in your \Documents %26amp; Settings\ folder as well as .dll's in your \WINDOWS\System32\ folder, its not worth the effort. Either pay for it or just keep the installer and a crack of some sorts on your flash drive and hope your not carrying around viruses.

Portableapps doesn't provide mechanisms to alter trial periods, it simply makes FREE software stand-alone.
