I know only c & c++ ,what extra programming language is required for joining software company?

Well, if your talking from an interview point of view then U may need Java too . But to clear an interview there's much more than programming languages. You mainly need to know Operating systems, DBMS, Data structures, S/w Engg ,UNIX %26amp; other core CS subjects(for a s/w engg post). They hardly bother about how much programming u know cuz they'll be training you for a specific domain anyway.

I know only c %26amp; c++ ,what extra programming language is required for joining software company?
If u r strong in this u can easily get a job in some s/w companies
Reply:It depends on the industry and what they're looking for--many companies are aware that if you learned both C and C++ then you are probably qualified to learn another high-level language quickly. Many are starting to program in C# and using .NET languages, and many more are still using C++. Either way, it's best to do a job search and find out what developers are looking for first!
Reply:Abhishek,

Better you prepare yourself in .NET, this is in good demand in s/w co's now. Ofcourse Java is another such tech but I feel there is a huge number of people with Java knowledge compared to .Net.
Reply:I wish I knew those ^_^
Reply:Try learning a language that isn't in the Algol family. Try a functional language (Haskell, Erlang, ML) learn a database language (SQL), a Lisp dialect (Scheme, Common Lisp), or a very high-level language (Python, Ruby).

Learning some of the *other* ways that computer languages can be constructed will help you a great deal. But with the solid fundamentals of C (knowing about pointers, types, and data structures) you'll be head and shoulders above most.
Reply:I prefer you master this both the languages. That will give you a great career.. Even today c and c++ are the great languages with huge demand.. If you are in india try for honeywell who requires lots of c and c++ developers, if you are strong in the subject no problem you can getinside very easily..

I dont think you should deviate if you are very interested in C and C++
Reply:It is good to know one database(oracle, sql server,sybase,db2) and operating system concepts and programming(winsdk, posix etc)
Reply:java and oracle
Reply:I think that java and netframework are that programing languages which requard for a good job in it industries.
Reply:Well, do you know what software company you want to work for?

There are many programming languages. If you are a competent programmer, many companies will hire you and you'll learn on the job. My first programming job I didn't know a thing about the language I used (Ada) but I did know Cobol, C, C++, Java and had some knowledge of Assembly Language.

What it comes down to is what each individual company requires. As you gain experience, you'll learn more languages and more jobs will open up to you.

Good Luck!
Reply:knowing C,and C++ is ok for campus interview for the big company. If u want to try alone ,u can go for a .net course. It is very banificial. After that you can join any company which works on .net,as wel as u can seat for campus with this extra knowlodge. It is better to seat idle for a couple of month.
Reply:Only C is enough to join in Software Company, if you know well. But if your are a fresher its little tuff to get into the industry. or if you have one plus years of experience, you can get the job quickly.
Reply:Now a days the market of web designing is very good. Software companies want to employe people who knows all the programming languages which will help in web poge designing. For these you have to learn Vb. net , Asp.net and Java. I think if you learn all these 3 programming languages along with C and C++ then you will surely get a job in a software company.
Reply:c %26amp; c++ is very impressive.

Web Application design seems to be in demand. Everyone seems to be looking for Java Programmers. Linux knowledge is a plus. BS or MS in Computer Science is a must. I only have a AS degree in Computer Science, and have found it difficult to get work as a programmer.
